Hire guide

                               Welcome to Your Hire Guide

Thank you for choosing Roaming Rascals.

We know travelling with little ones can require a lot of planning, so we've created this guide to help make your hire experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Here you'll find everything you need to know about your equipment, delivery, collection, cleaning, and caring for your hire.

Every item is carefully cleaned, inspected and prepared before it reaches you, so you can enjoy your holiday with confidence.

If you have any questions before, during or after your hire, we're always happy to help.

Delivery & Collection

We aim to make every delivery simple, reliable and convenient.

Delivery

  • Delivery and collection times will be arranged with you in advance.

  • Please ensure the delivery address and contact details are correct.

  • Let us know if your accommodation has restricted access, stairs, gates or parking requirements.

  • A responsible adult is required to receive the equipment.

Although we always aim to arrive within the agreed time, delays can occasionally occur due to traffic, weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we'll keep you updated as soon as possible.

Collection

When your hire comes to an end, we simply ask that:

  • all items are ready at the agreed collection time

  • everything supplied is returned together

  • equipment is reasonably clean

  • any damage or missing parts are reported as soon as possible

  • There's no need to professionally clean the equipment before collection—we take care of the full cleaning and sanitising process after every hire.

Cleaning & Hygiene

At Roaming Rascals, cleanliness, comfort and care are at the heart of every hire experience.

We understand how important it is for parents and carers to receive equipment that feels fresh, clean and ready for their little one. Every item is carefully prepared between hires to the best of our knowledge and reasonable ability, so you can enjoy your holiday with confidence.

Our Cleaning Process

Before every hire, each item is thoroughly inspected and prepared. Depending on the product, this may include:

  • Vacuuming and removing dust or debris.

  • Cleaning and sanitising hard surfaces.

  • Laundering bedding and soft furnishings where provided.

  • Inspecting straps, fabrics, mattresses and accessories.

  • Checking for signs of wear, damage or cleanliness concerns.

  • Items are only returned to hire once they have been inspected and considered suitable for future use.

  • Bedding & Mattresses

  • Where bedding is included with your hire, it is freshly laundered using gentle baby-safe laundry products wherever reasonably possible.

  • Mattresses are routinely inspected for firmness, cleanliness, odours and signs of wear. Any mattress or bedding that does not meet our standards is removed from service.

  • During Your Hire

  • We kindly ask that hired equipment is kept in a clean, smoke-free environment and treated with reasonable care throughout your booking.

  • Please let us know as soon as possible if equipment becomes heavily soiled, damaged or requires additional cleaning during your hire. Accidents can happen, and we always appreciate honest communication so we can prepare the equipment safely for the next family.

  • Allergies & Sensitivities

  • While we aim to use gentle baby-safe cleaning products wherever reasonably possible, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Parents and carers remain responsible for checking that products are suitable for their child's individual allergies, sensitivities or medical needs.

  • Thank you for helping us keep our equipment clean, safe and ready for every family to enjoy.

Using Your Equipment

Your child's safety is our highest priority. Before using any hired equipment, please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the product and follow the manufacturer's instructions where provided.

Before First Use

We recommend that you:

  • Inspect your equipment upon delivery.

  • Contact us immediately if you have any concerns before using the item.

  • Safe Use

  • To help keep your little one safe, please remember to:

  • Always use equipment for its intended purpose.

  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidance at all times.

  • Our Commitment

  • Every item is inspected before it leaves us, but your continued checks during your hire are equally important. Working together helps ensure every piece of equipment remains safe, reliable and enjoyable for your family.

• Always place babies on their back to sleep.

• Use a firm, flat mattress.

• Keep the sleep space clear of pillows, loose bedding and toys.

• Monitor room temperature and avoid overheating.

Parents and carers remain responsible for ensuring products are suitable for their child and used safely.

Decorative Items

Some of our equipment is presented in woven baskets, muslin bags or with decorative accessories to create a beautiful customer experience.

Many of these items are handmade using natural materials, so slight variations in colour, texture and finish are completely normal.

We kindly ask that decorative items are treated with reasonable care and kept away from unsupervised children.

Decorative baskets are intended for presentation and storage only and are not designed for sleep or play.

During Your Hire

We kindly ask you to:

  • Keep equipment in a clean, smoke-free environment.

  • Protect items from excessive rain, mould and prolonged moisture.

  • Avoid leaving equipment outside unnecessarily.

  • Let us know as soon as possible if equipment becomes damaged or requires additional cleaning.

Accidents happen—we simply appreciate honest communication so we can prepare the equipment safely for its next family.

Product Photos

We do our best to ensure our photographs accurately represent the equipment you'll receive.

Occasionally colours, baskets, bedding or decorative accessories may vary slightly due to seasonal availability or natural materials.

Decorative items shown in photographs may not always be included unless specifically listed in the product description.
